Welcome to the EKA website
EKF news 'EGM called' 'what a mess'
Hi Carl

I have read the email on the EKF allowing single clubs to join without being members of an association.

This action goes against the EKF constitution, changes to the constitution can only be made through an EGM being held and the members being asked to vote to the changes, the members of the EKF are associations not clubs or individuals the constitution would need to be changed by vote of the members to allow this action.

If a club was allowed to join the EKF as a member then as a member they would have full voting rights because the are classified as a member, the constitution states all members will have full voting rights so this would need to be changed as well.

As the vice chair person of the Heian Ryu Karate Group I ask that an EGM be called on this matter as single clubs joining as members and not paying the full subscription fees undermines the EKF constitution.

Also any club joining the EKF because their association does not want to, then these clubs would have to leave that association or they will be breaking 21.9, I would assume that this information would be on the application forms to inform potential members that the must leave their association.

I would ask that this email be put on the EKF web site to inform all the members that I am asking for an EGM to make these changes to the constitution to allow for clubs to join as members.

WUKF World Championships-Brazil

Congratulations to the all the Individuals from England on their fantastic results at the WUKF, World Karate Championships in Brazil. They did their country and governing body proud.

It's good to see that 'Karate Ka' are again winning on the World scene and are heading in a positive direction with all the groups connected to the WUKF.

From everyone at the 'EKA' may we wish them well for continual success.

A full report is to follow or visit www.karateengland.org.uk or  www.wukf-karate.org

More Groups leave the EKF
Dear EKA,

Can I bring your attention to the following weblink:

http://www.iancuthbertuka.co.uk/latest_news.html

The report refers to the FEKO Childrens and Cadets Open 2010.

Read down a few paragraphs and you will see the following:

"Another old face from EKGB days was Fred Rose (BUKA)  and what a pleasure having him and his members back in FEKO again ."

According to the EKF website, BUKA are still full members of the EKF:

http://www.englishkaratefederation.com/associations/full_members.php

I assume that they have not yet updated the EKF website.  Or was Ian Cuthbert wrong in his statement.

This is a very interesting development.  Have BUKA also followed the AMA out of EKF?

AMA Join The WUKF

Dear Ed

Great site.

It's nice to see a group welcoming clubs to their events with no restrictions. We have supported the AMA for over 20 years, I'm now being told, I will be breaking the 21.9 rule if I attend their championships by the SKGB.

The AMA run excellant competitions, I will be attending their events, it's time, club instructors stood up to the SKGB and also the EKF in England.

If everybody went to what ever competition they wanted too, do you think they would really sanction or suspend their members? get real my wee people they would have no members, they would dismantle themselves. Gets some B***s and stand up for yourselves. We should be able to attend what we want.

I know of some people who are members of the SKGB and the EKF who still train and compete outside of the SKGB and the EKF !!   There are all sorts of members ducking and diving under the `Infamouse 21.9 rule` so to speak.

Many can be found on web sites and in the magazine's, it's not hard. A blind eye seems to have been turned to many, on the face of things it appears the EKF and now the SKGB ( shame on them) have had a witch hunt on the AMA.

I've looked at the AMA web site, 'wow' never realised they had been around for 38 years. Also if you do some digging you will find that many of the SKGB and EKF groups where member's of the AMA once.

The SKGB and EKF must really fear the AMA, to want to discredited them so much.

I would think, now that  the AMA in England are now direct members of the 'World Union of Karate-Do Federation' the EKF now have another problem. Whats going to happen if lots of groups join  the AMA for World recognition? food for thought?.

On closer inspection of the BKF, it appears that the English board are controlling the BKF? be warned remember 'Wallace'

Yours truly

Dear Ed

Please post to your web site:

The AMA are now direct members of the WUKF.

The AMA welcome all groups to attend our championships with no restrictions.

We welcome all groups into membership of the AMA in the UK which will give them membership to the WUKF.

Regards

Peter Allen
