21.9 - Northern Open 6th June
Sunday, 20 June 2010 00:00

Hello EKA

I noticed that the 21.9 rule was enforced at the weekend regarding two groups trying to enter the Northern Open in Warrington on 6th June.

The chief referee would not let them enter. They had travelled from the Northeast. Long way to be kicked out. I'm led to believeone was an AMA club. At least this organiser stuck to his guns.

Yours Truly

Mr S. Anderton

Mr Anderton

You are misinformed, they where allowed to enter, wrongly I believe? another group was FEKO. 21.9 out of the window for this comp.

EKF's Decision to Publish Disciplinary
Thursday, 10 June 2010 21:18

Hello EKA,

I may be alone here but I actually support the EKFs decision to publicise the results of disciplinary action..

Although they have not explained exactly what either the AMA or Mr Allen are guilty of it shows, especially as Mr Allen was at the time an EKF Director, there will be no favouritism shown to anyone, no matter what position they hold, a positive and decisive step forward.

One of the current directors is not quite as discreet as perhaps the others might like and I have heard the AMA were apparently accused of a breach of Rule 21.9, something which seems to be a favourite topic on your site.

Personally I now look forward to reading the published disciplinary tribunals on Mr Dinsdale and BASKA, he admitted his breach of this rule and felt the need to resign as Vice President so it should be an easy decision. If an ordinary director gets 52 weeks and a fine what punishment fits the WKF Rep, a life sentence?

Ishinryu clearly broke this rule on a number of occasions when they competed and officiated in Malta. The National Coach has numerous breaches, so too the Events Organiser.

The EKF web-site is going to be on fire when all these tribunals are published, that is of course if there is anybody left to write the reports, I cannot wait.

Yours in Karate,

Andrew Lawrence

EKF Hypocrits?
Thursday, 10 June 2010 13:18

Hi EKA

Just noticed Mr Billman in a photograph and a UNICEF representative regarding his support of UNICEF on the BKF web site. This a few days after the 10th April Charity Comp which was raising funds for Cancer Research and UNICEF. He and his fellow EKF board members would not support this event, in fact they warned people to stay away using the 21.9 rule as their tool.

What an  'Hypocrit' I wonder if UNICEF knew that this was the case.

Yours truly

Trudy D.

Infamous 21.9 Your views?
Thursday, 10 June 2010 07:26

Dear all Karateka, I really don't understand who founded the infamous rule 21.9

I cant understand why it has to be so strongly emphasised.

If I practice a recognised style of Karate, have a recognised grade and when attending an EKF sanctioned event I follow the rules explicitly and completely in fact I am a model member, why cant I then belong to another association and again follow their rules and act in a proper manner.

Why does the problem have to be with Karate, I know there are some highly placed martial artist's who also belong to multi jujitsu style organisations and within those there are of course various karate-ish groups, they all get along fine.

Why doesn't everyone just swallow their pride and get on with it, my students don't understand why are we the grass roots members are denied the benefits of Sports Council recognition. Lastly I would ask are you (our leaders) acting in the true spirit of Karate. I am not naive I spent may years as a Shop steward in the TGWU so I know how powerful some voices can be.

Anti or Pro EKF?
Thursday, 10 June 2010 07:23

To all our readers.

As we have stated on a number of occasions we here at EKA wish to remain absolutely neutral and allow you the freedom tooffer your views on anything relating to karate here in England.

Over recent weeks we appear to be receiving an enormous amount of correspondence which is best described as anti-EKF. We have many more we have not yet published, some because they breach our guidelines on abusive language and some because they are very much echoed in other e-mails already published, if your e-mail has not been published because it is very similar to others please accept our apologies. If it has not been published and you desperately wish your views to be made please contact us again and we will try to fulfil your request.

As stated almost all received e-mails recently have been anti-EKF and therefore we would like to ask for somebody, anybody to redress the balance and put forward your pro-EKF opinions.

Please keep your views coming.

EKF Internet Police 'Beware'
Wednesday, 09 June 2010 13:01

Dear Ed

Looking at many of the web sites out there, many current EKF members appear to break the WKF 21.9?

I would warn these groups, 'beware' of the EKF Internet Police, namely ????.

It's a sad day when you can't meet your friends or compete at any Karate championships due to fear of sanctions being imposed by the EKF. It appears now looking at their site regarding a disaplinary, this also includes £'s in fine's?. Do the EKF members realise what message the EKF are sending out to it's members.

Look over your shoulder people, the 'EKF Internet Police are about'

Thanks

EKF You Must Be Joking?
Wednesday, 09 June 2010 06:48

Hi Ed

Just so I can get this straight, a group of grown men had a disciplinary hearing against an association and an ex board member for 2 hours, after which they deliberated and came to the conclusion that everybody was guilty. I find it difficult to understand how something could take 2 hours plus when nobody was there to argue back any of the points, as the persons in question obviously were never going to attend.

I assume that as this hearing took place it will be minuted and is available to view so everybody can see the crimes committed by former members.

2hours plus, nobody arguing, every body guilty, £3000 fine. You have got to be Joking me. Like I said grown men

Thanks

Karate Kid - EKF web site
Tuesday, 08 June 2010 15:42

Dear Ed

Karate Kid stuff on the EKF web site. Is this for real? is this a 21.9 issue?

I would love to see something pertaining to the rejection by Sport England of the EKF on the web site. This is something that will affect us all. Not all this dribble of the Karate Kid logo from Sony.

If any one has anything then please post it to this site. We all want to know what's going on. The EKF Board know something and are not letting on.

Kickboxers in the EKF?
Tuesday, 08 June 2010 15:21

Dear Ed

The EKF associations list has WAKO as a member of the EKF?. It would appear that the EKF are breaking the WKF 21.9 rule and having sporting relations with another World body?. I wonder if the WKF are aware of this?

There's me thinking it was a Karate organisation, perhaps this is another reason the EKF where rejected as a governing body by Sport England?

AMA V EKF disciplinary?
Friday, 04 June 2010 21:42
To whom it may Concern

I have read, with interest, the EKA site.   Can the EKF tell me why the AMA and Mr Allen were disciplined and subsequently found guilty? There is no news on the EKF site to counter-act all that the EKA are saying.

I thought the EKA were part of the EKF. I could be wrong but it's confusing.

Regards

Dear Readers

Never seen a disciplinary put on a web site like this before, looks like the EKF don't like AMA.

Forgive me for being thick, but how can a group or individual be sanctioned at all by the EKF, they weren't there to defend themselves?. They also weren't members. I saw the resignationletteron 29th May on the AMA and EKA web site? It will be interesting to see how this develops, especially when the EKF have no money, how they going to make them pay?

Also interesting to see that the EKF can get some information very quickly on the web site. Still no statement on the rejection by Sport England of the EKF as a governing body? what are the EKF trying to hide?.

I think KE will get the nod from Sport England very soon, groups seem to be leaving the EKF every day. No wonder if the board treat their members like this.

Off to a little comp in the Northwest near Warrington this weekend, not sure if I'm breaking any rule's or not, I've heard that KUGB will be there, no problem at least they are open about everything.

EKF executive you are hypocrite's

Thanks

Dean Smith.

Not EKF, thank god.

I will also be attending the competition in Warrington on Sunday , I know the organisers well. I can assure you that there will be no KUGB clubs in attendance .

EKF Discipline Tribunal

An EKF Discipline Tribunal took place on Wednesday the 2nd June 2010.

Two charges of misconduct were alleged against the AMA, and two charges of misconduct were alleged against Mr Peter Allen. Three days before the hearing resignations from both Mr Peter Allen and the AMA were received by the EKF. These resignations were not accepted initially and, as there was nothing heard to the contrary, the hearing went ahead as planned.

The hearing was due to commence at 11am. By 11.15 neither the AMA nor Mr Peter Allen nor their representatives had arrived. Nor had any communication regarding their attendance been received and therefore the hearing commenced at 11.15am.

After approximately 2 hours the Discipline Committee retired to discuss the evidence presented and eventually made their decision.

The allegations against the AMA and those against Mr Peter Allen were proven on all counts and the following decisions were made:

That a suspension of 52 weeks be imposed on count one, a suspension of 52 weeks be imposed on count two, this to run concurrently with the penalty imposed on count one. Costs of £1,500 be awarded against the AMA.

That a suspension of 52 weeks be imposed on count three, a suspension of 52 weeks be imposed on count four, this to run concurrently with the penalty imposed on count three. Costs of £1,500 to be awarded against Mr Peter Allen.

Subsequently the President of the EKF formally accepted the resignations of both the AMA and Mr Peter Allen.

Associations names-BKF Squad Training?
Monday, 31 May 2010 09:50
Hi Editor

I sent an email with regards to the EKF using this site to post about the selections for the BKF squad, I have been informed that this article was not post to the web site by any of the EKF Board or by the Squad Coach, If this is true then I must send my appoligies to the EKF board and the squad coach for my comments.

Yours in Karate

Hi Editor

I have looked at the list of names who have been selected to try out for the BKF Squad, why was their association name not put next toeach memberso we would be able to see how many different association are involved in these selections?.

I have read a few of the letters and think the points made are valid, but the only way to have these questions answered would be for the head of all associations to call for a EGM with all these issues on the agenda.

As for Squad training being moved closer to Hull every now and then, I have asked this question for years and it will never happen.
