EKF Nationals Presentation
Monday, 28 May 2012 13:59

Dear Ed

Please print this letter, I do hope the EKF board listen.

Gobsmacked when I attended the EKF champs in April and also when I viewed the EKF Pictures relating to the EKF National Championships on the EKF web site. What has gone wrong? I know they say every picture tells a story, so I ask the EKF high and mighty. What has happened to the polished presentations that we use to have.

If your at a National Championships I would expect better. It appears that the EKF Nationals is going backwards?

The categories where small as well, where is everyone?, I wasn't impressed with the organising or the standard. If this is the best that the EKF have to offer then I'm afraid I wont be wasting a weekend again next year.

Regards

More EKF member seem to be flouting the 21.9 law .

Dokan gudo nishijima from the north east , affilitiated to TASK in middlesborough and sensei Harold  Stephenson being their chief referee and EKF/BKF tatami manager , entered the nka open competition in Jarrow on 25th February , according to local press they won 110 trophies . Sees people are still disregarding the 21.9 and getting away with it

Hi, just scanned EKF site. What a set of plonkers, yet another unauthorised comp in Yorkshire. So glad I'm not part of it. I don't miss the politics.

WKF Rule 21.9 revised
Thursday, 11 November 2010 15:05

Hi Mr Editor

I've read that the WKF have revisited the 21.9 rule. In their wisdom they are now allowing groups who are not affiliated to another World body to have sporting relations and compete in competitions such as the EKF comps or their associations events. Those that are members of other World groups are not permitted to enter comps or have sporting relations etc with EKF/WKF members.

One question is, what about WAKO GB who are members of the EKF and are insured through WAKO and have membership of WAKO who are a World group.

Also the doors are now open to accept groups such as GKR into EKF associations events as they don't belong to any World bodies. EKF members can now have sporting relations with GKR members, thats if I'm reading it right, but recognised credible groups such as FEKO, SHIKON, AMA and SKU are not permitted.

And yet all these groups have done is leave the EKF, they are still the same groups that have been competing and entering along side all the existing groups in the EKF for years. What happened to openness and freedom to enter what ever you want to enter.

Sorry people, but the WKF have got it wrong again and the blind people again at the helm of the EKF are following like lost sheep.

The best time ever was the 18 months prior to the EKF, when we had no governing body and we weren't told what we could enter or do.

Thanks FOR NOTHING WKF.

IN REPLY TO THE LETTER POSTED ON YOUR WEBSITE ( 2ND Sept 2010 )WHICH I NEVER KNEW EXSISTED TILL LAST WEEK. IT SEEMS LIKE THIS HAS BECOME A FORUM FOR CHILDISH AND EMBITTERED MARTIAL ARTISTS, IF I DARE CALL THEM THAT ! OR COWARDS WHO HIDE  BEHIND BLANK E MAIL ADDRESSES .

SOME “GW” COMPLAINS OFA BREACH IN RULE 21.9 BY COWDENBEATH KARATE CLUB . THE SINS HE HIGHLIGHTS ARE DUE TO TWO FACTS ! 1) COMPLETE UNAWARENESS OF 21.9 BREACH OR WHAT 21.9 IS OR WAS LAST YEAR BY OUR CLUB.

THE COWDENBEATH  CLUB ENTERED MALTA EVERY YEAR AS DID MANY EKF CLUBS BUT ONLY A FEW MONTHS AGO WERE WE INFORMED THAT WE COULD NO LONGER ENTER AS THERE WAS A DISPUTE WITH THE WKF .

HAVING ALREADY BOOKED ETC WE HAVE NOW HAD TO CANCEL THE TRIP AND INDEED HAD TO CANEL OUR DUBLIN TRIP LAST MONTH FOR THE DUBLIN OPEN ONCE A CIRCULAR WAS POSTED TO US REGARDING NO ENTRY FOR SKGB CLUBS INTO THIS EVENT .

IT IS ONLY RECENTLY THAT THIS ENFORCEMENT HAS CAME INTO PLACE , WHY I DON’T KNOW BUT FOR SOME UNKOWN TO COME INTO PRINT TO TRY AND DISCREDIT OUR CLUB AND OUR VOLUENTEER INSTRUCTORS IS DISGRACEFUL.

SECONDLY :-

WE RUN A MARTIAL ARTS CENTRE , VERY SMALL, WITH KARATE, FREESTYLE AND KEEP FIT CLASSES WHICH THE COWDENEBATH KARATE WEBSITE COVERS . SO PEOPLE TRIAN WITH THE CENTRE WHO ARE NOT EVEN PRACTICING KARATE ! SOME FIGHT IN WKA OR EVEN MMA BUT COME ALONG TO THE KARATE CLASS SOMETIME FOR FITNESS.

IT IS A COMMUNITY BASED GROUP OF MARTIAL ARTISITS WHO ENJOY TRAINING AND HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE NOT A BIG MONEY MAKING GROUP WE HAVE NO POLITICAL AGENDA BUT DO TRY AND SUPPORT CLUBS WHO RUN TOURNAMENTS ETC ESPEICALLY WHEN FOR CHARITY ETC .

BY THE ACTIONS OF THIS “GW” HE HAS THREATENED THE VERY FUTURE OF OUR SMALL CLUB FOR HIS OWN ENDS AND DOES NOT EVEN HAVE THE COURAGE TO PRINT HIS NAME .

Vendetta by the EKF Board
Wednesday, 08 September 2010 21:34
Dear editor

I received the email below from the Chief Referee of the EKF stating that I have broken the 21.9 rule, I have not received an official letter from the EKF board asking did I or did I not attend an AMA competition in August, all I received was this disgraceful email form the Chief Referee penalising me for something I have not had a chance to defend against.

I thought the law in England was the same as Scotland, innocent till proven guilty, but the EKF board and their buddies think they are the law.

Dear Billy,

As you are already aware it has been brought to my attention that you attended the AMA Championship on 15th August in Bury in as an official although you have denied to comment in regards to this I must now inform you that photographic evidence has been forwarded to me.

Therefore I an now issuing you with an official warning in regards to the breach of rule 21.9 sporting relations with non EKF members, this means that if you are found in breach of this rule again then at the very least a six month suspension will be issued.

I have to say I am disappointed with you personally in regards to this as your refereeing and behaviour at my last course was encouraging and you had expressed your desire to be included in future Elite courses however your attendance at this event has now made me reconsider not including you in future.

Regards,

Dale Gamble

EKF Chief referee

Due to receiving this trash I emailed Carl Linley president of the EKF and asked that he send me a letter or email with the accusations and a copy of the photo and I will answer his questions truthfully.

I also sent in prove and asked for a formal investigation into the BIKO attendance at the AMA comp and due to BIKO being the Chief Referee's association, I asked that he should be made to resign just as  M/D had to resign as Vice President of the EKF for his association breaking 21.9,  now I have been suspended indefinitely for asking the board to follow their rules and regulations, it is very plain to see that there is one set of rules for the mere members and another set for the board and their buddies.

The EKF board states they run by company law 2006, under this law a person is allowed to defend his/her actions before any suspensions can be placed on them which the EKF have not afforded me, but I know this really has nothing to do with whether I broke 21.9 or not this is a vendetta against me from some of the board members because I stood up and faced them at the EGM so they could not enforce this type of action on the members and I have since then emailed the EKF president asking where the minutes are from the EGM and the AGM and where are the full accounts, I have also had lots of run-ins with the Chief Referee because I will not be one of his puppets, I stand up and tell him what I think and this vendetta has been going on since he took over as C/R just because I asked a few questions which needed answered.

I think this email shows that the EKF board have no compulsions of getting rid of the members who don't like their dictatorship ways and are not scared to say so and they can’t even get that right, this is an email, to enforce the suspension on me I should have been taken in front of the disciplinary commission and received a headed letter with the results of the hearing (company law 2006) but instead the EKF board have listened to the Chief Referee and just suspended me because he did not want me to attend the BKF's in Scotland so as I would loose my BKF Badge, is this not an employee telling the board what to do.

Dear Billy,

This email is to inform you that with immediate effect you are suspended from the EKF referees department and your services are not required at any forth coming events including the BKF's until further notice.

This instruction has been agreed with the board in response to your current actions and comments as it is felt that you have brought the referees department into disrepute. The matter is now in their hands and they will contact you directly when they have decided the length of your suspension and if any further action is to be taken.

Yours,

Dale Gamble

EKF Chief Referee

I have brought the Referee Department into disrupt, think not just proved that 21.9 only applies to certain members YES,

Proved that the EKF board don’t have a clue on the policies they are trying to implement YES.

Proved that: if your face does not fit: you are not welcome in the EKF YES.

EKF is not a Governing Body
Saturday, 24 July 2010 09:46

Dear Ed

Just been browsing the web like you do when it's raining, which is most days.

Noticed Shido Kai's web site is informing members to stay away from AMA event's due to them leaving the EKF. They say that the EKF are a governing body? Sad that they are forcing this on our member's, surly the instructors in Shindo Kai are big enough to make up their own minds. Having read Paul Holmes letter on this web site, I tend to agree with him, most have no B***S

Very bold comment by Shindo Kai exec to make, when the EKF are not actually recognised by Sport England, in fact they have been rejected as a governing body by them. Shindo Kai itself is more of a governing body than the EKF. The AMA like all the large groups now seem to be outside of the EKF and have joined the WUKF direct. Perhaps all the other groups in the EKF should do the same so Karate can move on. Scrap the EKF and all the other groups like Shindo Kai can mass together under a new banner.

Having read the comments on most of the site's including this one.It looks like most EKF groups are being used to implement the 21.9 rule even though they admit it's wrong. There also seems to be many groups in the EKF that do break this rule and yet these groups and individuals seem to be exempt from, I quote, the EKF security police as reported by many who have sent emails to this site.

English Karate seems to be in a right pickle, it appears it all started when the EKF was formed in late 2007 and a certain gentleman who got a life time ban from Karate came back on board.

'Get rid of the bad apple and the rest will be fine' keep it and the whole barrel will go bad.

We will miss the AMA people at our event's.

Yours truly

A Shindo Kai member who wishes to remain anonymous, oss.

WHY SUPPORT THE EKF?
Saturday, 26 June 2010 20:23

Dear Editor

Noticed that the EKF have taken the disciplinary notice against the AMA from their web site. I've heard that the AMA forced the EKF to do this by way of a legal letter, which would mean that the EKF have again acted incorrectly.

It appears that Sport England's assessment of the EKF is not without foundation, when they refer to governance.

Looks like the old boys club is back in control as indicated in the AMA's presidents letter to the EKF board.

The EKF seem to be on a route to self destruction.  Why would the BKF or the WKF back a group with the least karate members in it? and has no support of SE?

Perhaps someone can answer this for me.

Yours in Budo

Ken Moore

EKF dont answer emails?
Saturday, 26 June 2010 20:22

Hi Editor

I was asked by a board member of the EKF why I put my comments on your web site, my answer was the EKF board will not respond to my questions.

Well once again my questions have not been answered.

I asked the reason why just because there is a new chief referee that the Referee courses went up to £25 and the exam fee to £15, and as part of the courses the referee's must officiate the selections, before there would be some expences paid for doing squad selections (now you pay £25 for that pleasure). I also asked why as a BKF referee I should need to pay for these courses as the European and above officials don't and we should all be treated the same as we all pay our EKF registration.

I was assured by a member of the board that I would get some answers, (let down) it seems that if a question is asked concerning why the members are asked to fork out money the board ignore it and then they wonder why there is so much dislike towards some board members and there is so much unrest within the EKF, a simple explanation to my questions is all I wanted.
