EKF is not a Governing Body

Dear Ed

Just been browsing the web like you do when it's raining, which is most days.

Noticed Shido Kai's web site is informing members to stay away from AMA event's due to them leaving the EKF. They say that the EKF are a governing body? Sad that they are forcing this on our member's, surly the instructors in Shindo Kai are big enough to make up their own minds. Having read Paul Holmes letter on this web site, I tend to agree with him, most have no B***S

Very bold comment by Shindo Kai exec to make, when the EKF are not actually recognised by Sport England, in fact they have been rejected as a governing body by them. Shindo Kai itself is more of a governing body than the EKF. The AMA like all the large groups now seem to be outside of the EKF and have joined the WUKF direct. Perhaps all the other groups in the EKF should do the same so Karate can move on. Scrap the EKF and all the other groups like Shindo Kai can mass together under a new banner.

Having read the comments on most of the site's including this one.It looks like most EKF groups are being used to implement the 21.9 rule even though they admit it's wrong. There also seems to be many groups in the EKF that do break this rule and yet these groups and individuals seem to be exempt from, I quote, the EKF security police as reported by many who have sent emails to this site.

English Karate seems to be in a right pickle, it appears it all started when the EKF was formed in late 2007 and a certain gentleman who got a life time ban from Karate came back on board.

'Get rid of the bad apple and the rest will be fine' keep it and the whole barrel will go bad.

We will miss the AMA people at our event's.

Yours truly

A Shindo Kai member who wishes to remain anonymous, oss.
